BackgroundAs a native of the Palmetto State, I have spent most in my life in South Carolina schools as either a student or an educator. I spent my childhood and the first part of my career as an educator in Lake City, SC. After I got married, my husband's job relocated us to Horry County and I found a job as an English teacher at Conway High School. After working for four years at Conway and serving as the English department chair, I was encouraged by my principal to apply for the position of instructional coach. For five years, I served as an instructional coach while teaching one section of AP English Literature. However, during the summer of 2017, I decided to return to the classroom full-time and took a position as an English teacher at Carolina Forest High School in Myrtle Beach, SC.
My husband and I dedicate much of our spare time to our four dogs and volunteer with several local rescue organizations. |
